With the new School term right around the corner, I thought I would share a suitable look with you. Getting up so early for School was always my worst nightmare, I could never seem to get enough sleep and always felt tired! I wanted a makeup look that was a) quick and b) awakening!
First up, it's time to prime! Primer is super important as it will help to hold your foundation or tinted moisturiser on all day. I really like the Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer as it's mattifying and keeps oily skin at bay. Next up was my favourite Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, it's lightweight and gives a dewy fresh look to your skin. Don't forget to blend down the neck! To conceal any blemishes and also brighten the under-eye area I used my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shades number 1 and 3. For my brows I filled them in with Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in 'Rich Sable' using an angled brush. This was done to give shape to the face and also fill in any sparse areas.
For my eyeshadow I used a really simple palette from L'Oreal. These were my go-to choice back in School as they tell you exactly where to put certain colours on the back! It couldn't be any easier! For this look I used the L'Oreal Quad Pro Palette for Green Eyes. To add a little definition to the eyes I smudged AVON Supershock Gel Eyeliner along the upper lash line and blended with a brush to make it more subtle. Finally for the eyes I used my favourite mascara of the moment, my Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Mascara. This adds lots of volume and curl in an instant, without clumping. Perfect for applying quickly on a morning!
On to cheeks, I used a cheap and cheerful Natural Collection Blusher in 'Peach Melba'. It's a matte shade but adds a nice flush to the cheeks! Nice and natural for awakening the skin for School. As the blusher was matte, I wanted to add a little sheen to the cheekbones. For this I used MeMeMe Beat The Blues Highlighter in 'Sunbeam'. This is extremely similar to the Benefit highlighter, but as this is a high street only look, the MeMeMe one was a much cheaper option! Finally for the makeup I used the infamous Revlon Lip Butter in 'Cotton Candy'. It's a creamy texture that's extremely moisturising on the lips. I like this shade as it makes me feel really girly!
Then on to hair! I used my Babyliss Glamour Waves Curling Iron on the highest heat setting to create super quick and glossy waves. I love this iron for hurried hairstyles, it's easy to use and the results are effortlessly glam! Finally, I added a few twists either side of my face using some cute little Butterfly Clips. This will keep your hair out of the way whilst looking down at a desk and writing! I always found this very handy at school and it was the style to be seen with back in the day! Haha!
I hope you all have an amazing time back at School! Let me know if you decide to recreate this look for your first day back! Here is the full tutorial...
